Good Grief - Why am I having to explain this???

For some of the people who have bitched at me for lying to them, when I post a link to Scrappleface.com or the The Onion I would like to say that Scrappleface and The Onion are websites dealing in almost pure satire. I'm not trying to lead you astray and I'm not trying to give out false information. THESE WEBSITES ARE WEBSITES THAT DO SATIRE!!!!!!!

At yourdictionary.com satire is defined as: sat·ire - n.

A literary work in which human vice or folly is attacked through irony, derision, or wit.
The branch of literature constituting such works. See Synonyms at caricature.
Irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity.

[Latin satira, probably alteration (influenced by Greek satur, satyr, and saturos, burlesque of a mythical episode), of (lanx) satura, fruit (plate) mixture, from feminine of satur, sated, well-fitted; see s- in Indo-European roots.].
