The Oregon Health Plan is in the news

The Oregon Blog and Conrad of the Gweilo Diaries both have posts about many people being dropped from the Oregon Health Plan because of a failure to pay six or so dollars.

I think dropping these people is wrong. The reason I state this is because tax dollars go for this program, theoretically, and while it may seem proper to drop people who can't overcome a bureaucratic hurdle (no matter how simple to overcome) the Oregon Health Plan was not presented to the feds as a health plan with a bureaucratic hurdle. Nor was it presented to the beneficiaries that way. To change the rules in the middle of the game is wrong.

Considering the welfare programs and tax exemptions corporations get in Oregon, dropping those people from the Oregon Health Plan is crap.

NOTE: I've got better things to do than erase the childish, immature, psychotic, obscene comments from looney Roger Weidner and his gang of illiterate morons, so just put your opinions at the Johnhays.net Forum.
