My state rep and state senator

Today I'm highlighting my district's representative and senator to the Oregon legislature.

My representative is Jeff Barker . He is a Democrat. He is a retired cop who has had quite a career. The following is his bio:

OCCUPATION: Retired Police Lieutenant OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND: US Marine Corps; Oregon State Police; Portland Police Bureau: Awarded Police Star, Distinguished Service Medal, Police Medal

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: B.S., Portland State

PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Enlisted, US Marine Corps; Trooper, Oregon State Police; Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant: Portland Police Bureau

When you see him going house to house wearing his firearm, don't call the cops. He is a retired cop. He's not looking to burglarize your house. He just wants to talk to you and convince you that you should vote for him.

My senator is Ryan Deckert. He is a Democrat. The following is his bio.

Senator Deckert recently completed two terms in the State House of Representatives. During this time he was a member of the Oregon Internet Commission and was on the advisory board of the U.S. Internet Council. He also served as Director of Development for Hewlett Packard’s Innovators in Education program and as Director of Development for the ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens). Prior to his time in the Legislature, Senator Deckert was the Washington County Coordinator for Governor John Kitzhaber’s campaign and served as an aide to Congressman Les AuCoin and State Senator Bob Shoemaker.

Senator Deckert is also involved in several community activities. These activities include serving as a board member for Portland Habitat for Humanity, the Oregon Disabilities Commission and Community Action Organization, serving on the advisory board for the Portland Art Museum, and reading to grade school children in the SMART program.

Senator Deckert is not only a representative, but also a native, of the Beaverton area. He attended Beaverton High School and went on to graduate from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. While attending the University of Oregon, Senator Deckert served as a State Affairs Coordinator and was a board member for the Oregon Student Lobby.

If you see him going house to house, don't call the cops. He is not looking to burglarize your house. He just wants to talk to you to convince you that he likes the Portland Art Museum even when it shows nude paintings.

There, I've done my civic duty for the day.

NOTE: I've got better things to do than erase the childish, immature, psychotic, obscene comments from looney Roger Weidner and his gang of illiterate morons, so just put your opinions at the Johnhays.net Forum.
