I did an expose on the leaders of the organization American Family Rights Association (AFRA). In retaliation they contacted the owner of one of the email lists I'm on and threatened to sue the owner. The owner of the email list kicked me off the list. The owner of the email list is the owner of the website http://spiesonline.net/. She also sent me an email telling me to delete all links to her website. What should I do and would anybody help me? The following is the email I received from SpiesOnline.net.

Then I tried a legal dictionary and it told me to consult a lawyer.

If you need a good laugh and want to know more about how lunatics in the "sovereign citizen" movement think, you've got to read the mindless ramblings of pretentious idiots like John Taft and Edward Snook. They pretend they're investigative reporters but all their writings are dedicated to their delusional agenda to overthrow all US government entities.
They are also followers of a "sovereign citizen" cult leader named Roger Weidner.
There is a Bales Thriftway store on Farmington Road near where I live. The loonies decided I needed to be investigated and their investigation involved following me around as I strolled down the various aisles of the store. A couple of times the loonies almost accidently ran down some other customers in their zeal to investigate me while I shopped.

Now on to something else.
U.S. Farm Subsidies, 1995 through 2003
As we near the end of the costliest decade in the 70-year history of government farm subsidies, a new update to the Environmental Working Group's farm subsidy database finds that taxpayers have spent more than $131 billion on federal farm programs over the past nine years. The total includes $16.4 billion spent during 2003, the fourth highest amount over the nine years and a 27 percent increase over 2002. Surges in disaster payments and commodity subsidies drove the increase, along with a modest expansion in conservation spending.

Then again, maybe a couple of the attacks came from me being a jerk.
The two most emotional experiences came from knife attacks who came from the woman who gave me my two beautiful, obnoxious teenage daughters. She didn't get arrested for the knife attack she committed against me but she did get arrested by the Portland, OR cops for a knife attack against a neightbor woman.

I didn't know this but a cop told me all my daughters have to do when they find themselves in some sort of trouble is just press a button and, bam, the cops are alerted. The cops are also alerted to where my two daughters are.
Now I'm broke.

Thou canst not, love, disgrace me half so ill,
To set a form upon desired change,
As I'll myself disgrace: knowing thy will,
I will acquaintance strangle and look strange,
Be absent from thy walks, and in my tongue
Thy sweet beloved name no more shall dwell,
Lest I, too much profane, should do it wrong
And haply of our old acquaintance tell.
For thee against myself I'll vow debate,
For I must ne'er love him whom thou dost hate.

Anti-gay contingent draws street-side barbs
By Derek Spellman
Globe Staff Writer
11/29/04Churchgoers, motorists and others sparred verbally with members of a group that gathered Sunday morning outside several local churches to decry homosexuality.
Six representatives from Westboro Baptist Church, of Topeka, Kan., marched across sidewalks and held signs saying "God Hates Fags" and "Your Pastor Is Lying." The church group, led by the Rev. Fred Phelps Sr., claims to have conducted 20,000 anti-gay demonstrations across the nation in the past 14 years.
The local protests were organized in response to a dispute in Webb City involving a high-school student and his gay-pride T-shirts.
Members of Westboro Baptist Church plan to mount a similar protest this morning outside Webb City High School.

It seems a couple of local TV news programs have highlighted some phishing victims in the Portland Tri-County area. So I guess now is the time to put up a link to the Anti-Phishing Working Group.
What is Phishing?
Phishing attacks use 'spoofed' e-mails and fraudulent websites designed to fool recipients into divulging personal financial data such as credit card numbers, account usernames and passwords, social security numbers, etc. By hijacking the trusted brands of well-known banks, online retailers and credit card companies, phishers are able to convince up to 5% of recipients to respond to them.
I've been informed that state attorneys general in many states should also be contacted if one becomes a victim of a phishing scam. Also, the US Department of Justice has a webpage entitled "How to report internet-related crime".
So there, my four, faithful drunken readers in Joe's Saloon in the Virgin Islands who say I never do public service announcements.

There seems to be a proposal going around about replacing the income tax and the social security tax with a national sales tax.
I understand that part of the proposal would be to exempt the poor from the sales tax. I also understand that it would be necessary to do away with the sixteenth amendment to the U. S. Constitution.
Amendment XVI
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
I think we should give it a try. Under the present system, apparently, the costs of complying with the tax code run into the billions of dollars. Besides, the present system is so broken we ought to just scrap it and start from scratch if the national sales tax doesn't work out.
"We spend about $400 billion a year complying with the tax code. We spend $200 billion a year just filling out IRS paperwork," said Rep. John Linder (search) , R-Ga., who has proposed a bill that would create a national sales tax.

On the Discovery Channel right now there is a show about Sen Toku. During WW II the Japanese Imperial Navy built the largest submarines ever built. They never got a chance to really utilize them the way the subs were meant to be utilized, though. For pictures and more info about the ships in the Japanese Imperial Navy circa WW II visit this link.
While Japan built many submarines that were larger than those of other Navies, the three Sen Toku boats were far larger than anything ever seen before. Some 60% larger than the largest contemporary American submarine, USS Argonaut, they had more than twice her range. The most unusual feature was that they each carried three floatplane bombers (and parts for a fourth), a feat never achieved by any other class of submarine. These aircraft folded to fit into the 115-foot cylindrical hangar, which was slightly offset to starboard and opened forward to access the catapult. The huge double hull was formed of parallel cylindrical hulls so that it had a peculiar lazy-eight cross section, and may have inspired the Soviet Typhoon-class built some 40 years later. Although aircraft must be considered their primary armament, they also carried a formidable torpedo battery and the usual 14cm deck gun. Anti-aircraft armament included ten 25mm cannons in three triple mounts and one single. Each of these boats had radar and a snorkel.
The aircraft were the Aichi M6A1 Seiran, also carried by the Type AM submarines. Each of these monoplanes could carry one aerial torpedo or a bomb weighing up to 800kg. Powered by the 1,400hp Atsuta 32 engine (similar to Germany's DB601) they had a top speed of 295mph and were credited with a range of 642 nautical miles. The Sen Toku submarines carried four aerial torpedoes, three 800kg bombs, and twelve 250kg bombs to arm these aircraft. These aircraft had their assembly points coated with fluorescent paint to ease assembly in the dark, so four trained men could prepare an aircraft for launch in seven minutes. All three aircraft could be prepared, armed, and launched in 45 minutes.
Unfortunately for Japan, the war situation deteriorated so rapidly that these boats were never allowed to show what they could do. On 26 July 1945, I-400 and I-401 set out on a combat mission to launch their aircraft in Kamikaze attacks on the American fleet anchorage at Ulithi. In coordination with a Kaiten attack, they were scheduled to launch early on 17 August, but by then hostilities had ceased. Both boats therefore returned to Japan and were surrendered to the Allies. After the war, these two were taken to the United States, examined, and finally scuttled in the Pacific in 1946. I-402 was converted to carry precious fuel to Japan from the East Indies, but never performed such a mission. She was scuttled off Goto Island in 1946. Construction of two further boats of this design, I-404 and I-405, was stopped before completion, although I-404 was 90% complete. A further 13 boats were canceled before construction started.

It seems Alabama citizens had a chance to bring their state's consitution into the 21st century. In fact, Alabama had a chance to change their constitution to essentially say all American citizens in Alabama and all Alabama citizens were deserving of a public education and deserving of being treated with respect and dignity.
But wait...who should come riding out of the 18th century to put a stop to decency and honesty and equal rights? Lo and behold, I believe it is the Alabama Christian Coalition, that crazy organization dedicated to depriving American citizens in Alabama and Alabama citizens of the rights guaranteed under many other state constitutions.
Here in Oregon racism was enshrined in the state constitution but some years back the majority of Oregon citizens had a temporary attack of commen sense and changed the constitution to rid it of its racist past.
Mark Kleiman has a post opining on the foolishness of the majority of Alabama voters who voted to keep the Alabama constitution in the 18th century.

In this post I'm going to link to two webpages that discuss the 2004 election from the view point of progressive Democrats. The first link will take you to an article by Lakshmi Chaudhry. The following is an excerpt.
Author Thomas Frank tells us why the Democratic Party lost the 2004 elections and how it needs to rebuild – and address the needs of American working families. It's hard find anyone on the left who hasn't heard of Tom Frank's latest book, "What's the Matter with Kansas?" Its brilliant analysis of the political impact of the culture wars made it a must-read from almost the moment it came out in June. That the book was published in an election year made it all the more timely – and, as it turns out, prophetic. On Nov. 3, many progressives were left shaking our heads and asking ourselves, "What's the matter with America?"
The outcome of the 2004 elections offered most visible and spectacular confirmation of Frank's analysis of backlash politics. In red states across the nation, working class Americans put their social values ahead of their economic well-being and voted for George Bush. It wasn't the economy, stupid! It was god, guns, and, of course, gays.
So what now? The intractable reality of the culture wars seems all the more daunting thanks to the Democratic Party leadership, which shows no sign of breaking the decades-long habit of responding to defeat with abject submission. Having already moved to the right on economic issues, the party seems ready to don the mask of social conservatism – as in the appointment of an anti-abortion Harry Reid as the Senate Minority leader – to hold on to a sliver of power.
That's exactly the wrong strategy to beat the Republicans, says Tom Frank. The solution is not Bible-thumping but economic populism. Liberals need to respond to the faux populism of the GOP – which pits "real" working class Americans against over-educated, snotty liberals – with the real deal. Frank argues it's time for the Democratic Party to return to its roots, to rediscover its lost soul. To become once again the champion of the working class.
The second link is to a discussion going on at the Democratic Underground. The title of the post is "What are the core values that we Democrats all share?"

The reason the national Judicial Watch doesn't recognize Oregon Judicial Watch is because the national organization knows that Oregon Judicial Watch has been taken over by Roger Weidner and his gang.
As almost every lawyer, cop and judge in the state of Oregon knows, Roger Weidner and his gang of psycho vigilantes are homegrown terrorists. However, many people don't know this. Check out the following excerpt from an email.
Well, I would start by completely discounting anything from sleazereport.com or the Hayes report.
The writer spelled my name wrong. Darn. I work so hard and all my sources are credible people within the legal and news community that it pains me that people are discounting what I write. Just kidding about being pained. At least the email wasn't one of those death threats from Roger's buddies that I forward to the cops.
For the most part the Oregon Libertarian Party is filled with highly intelligent people who care about their country. I tend to vote for local libertarian party candidates (when there are candidates) and I have voted for Libertarian candidates for the presidency. I was rooting for Aaron Russo, but he lost. Michael Badnarik is now the Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate.
The following is information about Susan Detlefsen, who is a candidate for Oregon House District 42, provided by the US - Oregon Observer.
By US~Oregon Observer Staff
Portland, OR - On Tuesday, June 24, Oregon Family Rights members joined court watchers, and others attending the Detlefsen dependency hearing, in the Fred Meyer parking lot to demonstrate on behalf of Oregon children and families. Susan Detlefsen, Oregon Family Rights director, and others, passed out flyers on alleged child welfare fraud, and carried signs along Glisan Street in Portland. The manager of Fred Meyer came out to investigate, was convinced of the protestors good cause, and gave them his business card, asking that they inform him the next time they planned to use the Fred Meyer parking lot for a demonstration.
At 9:15 the group marched down to juvenile hall at 1401 NE 68th and gathered in the lobby with Roger Weidner, his mother, Francis Weidner and others. Elise Bush videotaped Roger's briefing, and Susan demanded her file from her court-appointed attorney, whom she had dismissed from her case earlier that week. Susan walked into the courtroom at 9:50, followed by Roger Weidner, Roger's mother, Oregon Family Rights members, who were wearing the new OFR tee-shirts, and several court watchers from the Oregon Judicial Watch. Susan explained to Referee Linda Hughes that her court-appointed attorney, Michael McCaslin could not represent her since he is paid by the state. Caseworker Jan Hege, who began the hearing, stated that Susan's daughter had moved home earlier that month and that all was well. The daughter's attorney Sibyl Baer corroborated the caseworker's assessment of the situation.
For the first time, under the pressure of having the "court watchers" there, Referee Hughes addressed Ms. Detlefsen directly. Susan stood and swore herself in, then proceeded to prosecute the state for their abusive, derelict handling of her daughter's case, and attempted to demonstrate that the dependency order of July 12, was the result of child welfare fraud, and that there was not any justification whatsoever in interfering with Ms. Detlefsen's custody or parenting of her 14 year old daughter.
The highlight of the hearing was Ms. Detlefsen's attack on her daughter's court-appointed attorney, who, according to her daughter, instructed the girl to deceive her own mother in order to cover up an incident that happened in foster care and which still has not been revealed to Ms. Detlefsen. "Did you instruct my daughter to deceive her own mother? And which abusive foster care were you threatening to send her to if she did not agree to cover up the truth?" Susan was interrupted by the judge, but she made her point and attorney Baer appeared quite stunned at being exposed for her unprofessional handling of the foster care incident that prompted the Detlefsen daughter wanting to move back home, suddenly last December.
Referee Linda Hughes spoke directly to Susan about her daughter, asking her if she was still on medication, to which Susan answered "absolutely not." She discussed Grant High school, her daughter's curriculum, an upcoming trip to Ireland, as though she, the referee, were now the girl's parent and as if Ms. Detlefsen were merely the babysitter. In spite of everyone's agreement, including the daughter, both attorneys, and the caseworker, to have the case dismissed, Referee Linda Hughes decided to keep the girl as a ward of the court, and ordered another hearing for October 27, 2003. Susan asked when she was planning to close the case out and the referee stated that the case should be closed out on October 27, "if all goes well."
We read all the time in the press about the lack of funding for Oregon's courts, yet we rarely are told the true reason for this lack. It is the practice of attorneys who drag things out because they make more money. If the courts and prosecutors would eliminate ridiculous cases such as this one and stop the false prosecutions there would be an abundance of funding.
After the hearing, the group met again at the SOSCF office at 14th and Irving in Portland, where Susan and others carried signs stating, "Protect your family from child welfare fraud in Oregon" and passed out flyers. Roger and Susan entered the CPS office to leave flyers inside. Susan struck up a conversation with two DHS victims and Susan gave them some information and her business card, while she listened to their horror stories.
About five minutes after she had begun speaking with parents, two people appeared in the lobby. Susan approached them as though they were victims and asked "would you like some information on child welfare fraud in Oregon?" "You need to leave the building immediately," was their response. Apparently these two were DHS supervisors who already knew the truth about "children's services" and will do anything to prevent Oregon Family Rights and others from spreading that truth. Susan explained that she is a tax payer, that the building is public, and that citizens have a right to access these buildings. However, when Supervisor Hennel threatened to call 911, Susan and Roger agreed to leave the building. As Susan and Roger exited the "Child Snatching Department" ("CSD"), Susan asked Chris Hennel, (to whom she has sent three letters complaining about caseworker Michael Simpson) how much her agency got from the federal government for the involuntarily removal of her daughter from her home. There was no response. Detlefsen stated, "you may kick us out, but you can't shut us up."

First of all a recap. The following links will bring you up to date on why sleazy, dishonest, scam artist Roger Weidner wrote a second loony letter to Judge Jack Billings. I will put the second letter below in blockquotes and my comments outside the blockquotes.
August 3, 2004
Lane County Courthouse
125 E. 8th Ave.
Eugene Ore. 97401-2926Re: Hasse v. Wishon et al.
DCCC 04CV0178STJudge Billings,
This letter is in response to your letter of July 22, 2004. It seems ironic Judge Billings that you would suggest that it is unethical for me to communicate directly with you about the manifest corruption going on in the Oregon judicial system. In particular the very obvious corruption of attorney Claude Ingram assisting attorneys Linda Haase and Anthony Albertazzi and Santiago Torres in defrauding Patricia Wishon out of property she inherited from her late husband. That corruption is not a figment of my imagination. It is detailed and documented and I as a former attorney and public prosecutor am prepared to put on conclusive and overwhelming evidence of that fraud and corruption as soon as you set a hearing, to set aside the Order for fraud, that you signed granting Ingram’s motion in the above referenced case.
Despite what Weidner writes above, his delustions about all the corruption is, in fact, delusional. It is also one of the delusions of those who are in the "sovereign citizen" movement.
I take obvious offense at your characterizing my comments as diatribes. Not a single accusation of fraud and corruption that I have made publicly in the past l6+years, in and out of court, against those attorneys and judges shamelessly involved in stealing innocent peoples children, lands and other property in sham often “star chamber” type proceedings has been denied or otherwise refuted by those I have charged. It is my intent to continue to speak out at every opportunity until you and the rest of the public magistrates in this state comply with your oath of office and insure that all citizens in this state receive “equal protection” and “due process” of law, namely a fair hearing with an impartial judge, when they appear in public courts around this state.
Again, Roger is lying. His delusional accusations have been refuted, however, after awhile one learns it is a waste of time refuting every delusional accusation that Weidner makes on a daily basis.
You state in your letter that “even the most casual reading of the opinion in which Mr. Weidner was disbarred demonstrates that he had committed crimes and violations against clients in an egregious manner, proven by clear and convincing evidence”.
This is true. Roger was, among other things, disbarred for defrauding his clients, lying to his clients, and stealing from his clients.
Nothing could be further from the truth. At the trial panel level in the second disbarment hearing, the first frivolous action was dismissed by the Supreme Court finding “no misconduct”, the trial panel Chair Walter Barnes allowed me to subpoena 9 judges, after he found their was strong evidence of a conspiracy against me. None of the 9 judges denied my charges against them. They all gave vague and evasive answers. I completely impeached the testimony of all witnesses called against me. In fact at the conclusion of the hearing Walter Barnes along with myself and three newspaper people, Ed Snook with THE OREGON OBSERVER, Dal Ferry with COUNTERPOINT and Bob Zeimer with THE OREGON SPECTATOR were openly discussing in court what could be done about the pervasive corruption problem in the Oregon court system. I asked Barnes that even though there was no credible evidence to support the charges to at least suspend me for 60 days because I wanted to appear before the Supreme Court to bring the corruption problem to their attention. When I appeared before the Supreme Court in l994 I said “I am not here to seek your favor but to expose the intolerable corruption in our court system”. None of the judges questioned the truthfulness of what I was saying. A video of that hearing was made and is available for your review.
As usual Weidner is lying again. Most of his lies are, in fact, aimed at his gullible cult followers. They believe everything lying, thieving Weidner says. The people mentioned above are his co-horts in his quest to overthrow the US government.
Over 10 years ago Arno Denecke came to my home and I discussed the corruption problem with him. He said he was too old to get involved. Harlow Lenon told me the same thing. Tony Casciato told me “Oh, your going to fight them”. Chuck Quinasso said “Oh, this ought to be interesting”.
I am enclosing for your review an article appearing in the December 2000 issue of THE OREGON OBSERVER describing my September 28, 2000 appearance in the Clackamas County Courthouse. You should take the time to read the article in its entirety. For an hour and a half I detailed the unprecedented criminal abuse I have been subjected to by attorneys and judges for strongly speaking out publicly against their shameful behavior in stealing innocent peoples children, lands and other property in sham often “star chamber” type proceedings completely devoid of even a semblance of the “equal protection” and “due process” of law protection afforded them by the Oregon and United States constitutions.
As a giant step in restoring public confidence in our court system I am requesting Judge Billings that you set down for hearing my Motion to set aside for fraud the Order you signed submitted by Claude Ingram. Copies of this letter will be submitted to all the parties as well as all of those individuals named below.
Signed, Roger Weidner

This letter is mild compared with the letter of October 9, 2004 to Judge Stephen Tiktin in which Sleazy Roger threatened to arrest Judge Tiktin if he interferred with Sleazy Roger “making the record” which Sleazy Roger had as “foremen of special grand jury’ had supbpoenaed Governor Kulungoski and atty gen Myers.

. In the last paragraph of the following letter from Sleazy Roger he threatens the Judge with arrest. How does he get away with threatening judges?
Judge Stephen Tiktin
November 7, 2004
1100 N.W. Bond St. Bend Ore. 97701Re: Weidner, Wheeler v. Torres DCCC No. 04 CV 0212 ST
Judge Tiktin,
This letter is to acknowledge the receipt of your November 3, 2004 Order Staying Sheriffs Sale.
Because I am noticing the individuals listed below with a copy of this letter and exhibits I am attaching the Order Staying The Sheriffs Sale as Exhibit A. Exhibit A exposes your very obvious continuing intent to block a record being made, in court, on the record, of the overwhelming and undisputed evidence of the fraud, collusion and conspiracy of attorneys Claud Ingram, Linda Hasse, Anthony Albertazzi and of Santiago Torres in attempting to convert property that did belong to Patricia Wishon and now belongs to Jamie Wheeler and I. By stating in Exhibit A No other allegations in the challenge to exemption which attempt to attack the validity of the underlying judgment can or will be considered you clearly show an obvious mind set to block a record being made of the Ingram, Hasse, Albertazzi, Torres conspiracy.I am also attaching as Exhibit B a copy of your October 6, 2004 Order. Again in that Order, you, without any rational basis for doing so, summarily dismissed all pending motions to set aside the fraudulent judgment, Exhibit G, you entered in this case on behalf of Santiago Torres. You did this even though no challenge has been made to the truthfulness of our repeated charges of fraud, collusion and conspiracy by either Ingram, Hasse, Albertazzi orTorres. I am attaching as Exhibit C your letter opinion of August 17, 2004 wherein you again, in a very obvious attempt to protect the fraud, collusion and on-going conspiracy of Ingram, Hasse, Albertazzi and Torres summarily, without hearing, deny Wheelers Motion to set aside the fraudulent judgment. You state in that letter opinion: the matter has already been fully argued and determined, no new or relevent issues are raised and there is still no question of material fact. That statement Judge Tiktin is made completely out of whole cloth and you know it. I detailed the fraud, collusion and conspiracy of Ingram, Hasse, Albertazzi and Torres in: my August 27, 2004 letter to you attached as Exhibit D; my October 2, 2004 letter to you which I am attaching as Exhibit E; my October 13, 2004 letter to you which I am attaching as Exhibit F. Given the undisputed evidence of fraud, collusion and conspiracy of Ingram, Hasse, Albertazzi and Torres in this case you still awarded Torres judgment against Wheeler and I for $11,564.84. Attached as Exhibit G is a copy of that judgment.
I am also enclosing, as Exhibit H, a copy of the story that appears on my website rogerweidner.net describing what took place in your courtroom on October 21, 2004. While Ingram and Hasse sat in silent shame Patricia Wishon, with righteous indignation and outrage, detailed their conspiracy to steal her property. After Judge Forte incredibly held for Ingram and Torres, Wishon, in front of 30 outraged supporters, ordered the guards present to arrest Judge Forte for his obvious complicity with Ingram and Hasse while the four guards present stood in confused and stunned silence. Judge Forte, in intimidation and shame, fled the court as did Ingram and Hasse under the protection of two deputies. I declared in your courtroom Judge Tiktin on October 21, 2004, with Judge Neilson on the bench, that in the name of the People of State Oregon, and pursuant to the provisions of Art 1 Sections 1 and 10 of the Oregon Constitution, that We The People were restoring constitutional government and constitutional courts to the citizens of Oregon. That We The People, were demanding that our publicly elected magistrates observe, at all times, our rights to equal protection and due process of law, namely a fair hearing with an impartial judge.
I am also enclosing for your information: Exhibit I, my June 7, 2004 letter to Sheriff Stiles; Exhibit J, my June 13, 2004 letter to Judge Forte; Exhibit K, my July 1 2004 letter to Judge Billings; Exhibit L, Judge Billings July 22, 2004 letter to me; Exhibit M my August 3, 2004 response to Judge Billings. The letters describe the ongoing judicial abuse of Wishon and supporters in Deschutes County..
What is crystal clear from a review of the attached documents is the existence of an organized scheme, a racketeering enterprise including attorneys and judges, involved in a scandalous and shameful attempt to steal property formerly belonging to Patricia Wishon and now belonging to Jamie Wheeler and myself. As a party to this action and as the foreman of a Special Grand Jury formed on October l4, l994, while I was on jury duty in Multnomah County, I intend on November l2, 2004 at 2:30 pm, in your courtroom, to again make a full and complete record of the criminal conduct of those involved in this shameful attorney conspiracy to steal innocent peoples property.
I am also putting you on notice that I, as foreman of the Special Grand Jury, am prepared to arrest, on obstruction of justice and misprison of a felony charges, anyone, including you Judge Tiktin, who attempts to block or otherwise interfere with my absolute right to make a full and complete record in your courtroom on November l2, 2004 of this shameful criminal racketeering activity by OSB members.
.
Sincerely/s/ Roger Weidner

What makes a good newspaper? What can newspaper publishers do to increase sales of newspapers?
Most of the revenue from the newspaper business comes from ads and not subscriptions. The subscriptions, or number thereof, help the publishers decide how much the advertising market will pay.
Rhetoric has a post about Japanese newspapers.
Japan's dailies do better than ours because they put more news in their newspapers. They are more reader-friendly and fair. They are more polite in their editorial comments or criticisms.
In Japanese newspapers, the volume of news always exceeds the volume of ads. In many U.S. newspapers, the reverse is true, especially on Sundays.
Rhetorica is also trying to publicize 411blog.net. Even though I only have my four faithful, drunken readers in Joe's Saloon in the Virgin Islands, I thought I would at least let them know about 411.net.
